Abstract

ABSTRACT Blood donation is one of the charity activities that is often carried out in the community. Therefore, the PMI Gunung Kidul district often carries out blood donation activities and holds them in various places in Gunung Kidul. However, not everyone knows the information about this activity or is even able to donate blood. Lack of information reaching the public and holding blood donation events is one of the factors in the lack of people participating. The system for searching, processing and creating data which is still manual makes the work of administrative officers less effective. The aim of this research is to produce an Android-based blood donation information application because PMI Gunung Kidul district lacks supporting facilities to disseminate information about the availability of blood bags. Therefore, the process of disseminating information will take quite a long time, so it will be less effective, especially in the current era of digital development, so a system that can be integrated with technology is created, namely an Android application. This blood donation application was created for donors who lack information about blood donation activities and several parties who want to carry out blood donation activities. In creating the Android application system, researchers used experimental data collection methods by means of observation, interviews, literature study and documentation. Meanwhile, unit testing uses the waterfall method. The preparation and design of this application uses the Kotlin programming language with the help of Android Studio software.
