Abstract

ABSTRACT Information is a basic need for everyone and becomes something very vital if the information is confidential. Cryptography is a technique or method for encoding messages or information so that it is safe and cannot be seen or understood by unwanted parties. The aim of this research is to produce an application to secure information. The method used in this research is a method of encrypting messages using a modified Affine Cipher Algorithm. Encryption itself is a way for a message or information to be encoded so that it cannot be read. Encrypted messages can be read again by decrypting them using a certain key. The result of this research is to produce an application that is capable of encoding documents using the modified Affine Cipher Algorithm.
