The objective of this study is to determine Hannah and Fox characterization in Hook, Line and Sinker, a novel written by Tessa Bailey. The study tries to answer two questions asked in the problem formulation. The first one is how does the novel portray Hannah character. The second is how Fox is characterized by the author. This study is done with the help of William Kenney’s theory of characterization and Abrams’ Objective theory, focusing on the mixing method. Basically, this study is a descriptive qualitative research. The study has found that Hannah is characterized as a girl who has positive characteristics such as: a) supportive, b) determined, c) loving, and d) independent. Fox is characterized as both positive and negative characteristics. Those are: a) passionate, b) insecure of other’s perception, c) afraid to be committed, and d) attractive.
