Abstract

DESIGNING AND DEVELOPING A WEB-BASED TRACER STUDY SYSTEM (Case Study: SMK YPKK 1 Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta) Haryo Surya Kelana, Farida Ardiani Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science & Technology Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta Jl. Ringroad Utara Jombor Sleman Yogyakarta E-mail: haryoaja5@gmail.com, farida.ardiani@staff.uty.ac.id ABSTRACT Tracer study is an initiative undertaken by schools to obtain the latest profiles concerning alumni status. By conducting job matching and relaying this information to alumni, schools can provide alumni with greater access to job vacancy information. Therefore, a system is needed by the school to collect the most recent alumni status and disseminate information regarding job matching. The data collection methods employed by the authors in developing the Web-Based Tracer Study Information System at SMK YPKK 1 Sleman include interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. This system is supported by the MySQL programming language. The outcome of this research is to facilitate the management in collecting alumni data effectively and efficiently, as well as to assist alumni who have not yet secured employment in their job search. Testing results indicate that this system successfully integrates data well, reduces errors, and increases the speed of alumni data processing, providing significant benefits to SMK YPKK 1 Sleman in managing tracer studies.
