Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia, known for its cultural diversity, has various ethnicities throughout the archipelago. Each ethnic group has a unique traditional house that reflects the cultural heritage, history, and life of the community. Although traditional houses have high historical and aesthetic value, public understanding is often limited. In the era of ever-growing information technology, Augmented Reality (AR) has emerged as an innovative solution to introduce and improve public understanding of cultural heritage, including traditional houses. AR seamlessly combines the real world with virtual elements, creating an interactive experience. This study proposes the development of an Augmented Reality-based mobile application for Android to connect the younger generation with Indonesian cultural heritage. This application functions as an interactive and engaging learning platform, allowing users to explore the details of traditional houses through realistic 3D visualizations. The goal is to improve effective learning and develop a sense of love and concern for Indonesian cultural heritage. By utilizing advanced technology such as Augmented Reality, it is hoped that this application will make a positive contribution to the preservation and better understanding of Indonesia's rich culture. In addition, its implementation is expected to pave the way for the development of similar applications for various cultural heritages, marking the first step in preserving and promoting Indonesia's cultural diversity in the digital era.
