Abstract
Each region in Indonesia has uniqueness and tourism potential that can be explored. The Special Region of Yogyakarta Province also has tourism potential that is no less good when compared to other regions in Indonesia. However, the lack of role of local governments and tourism actors in managing tourism makes it possible that the potential of these tourist attractions cannot develop optimally or cannot last long. The purpose of this study is to create an android-based information system application regarding tourism in Gunungkidul Regency in the form of photos of tourist attractions, history and articles from tourist attractions, and is able to provide tourist guides for tourists via mobile. From the results of this study, a tourism information system application was created using the Location Based Service method which will be developed into the Final Assignment research by completing features such as descriptions of tourist attractions and culture in Gunungkidul Regency and entering complete addresses with directions that have not been made according to previous research.
