Abstract

Tourism is a sector that plays a crucial role in improving the regional economy. Batang Regency possesses diverse tourism potential; however, its digital promotion remains limited. This study aims to develop the application of Batang Tourism. This mobile-based information system leverages Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and the Content-Based Filtering (CBF) algorithm to provide personalized tourism recommendations for users. The research methodology begins with a problem analysis to identify the challenges associated with tourism promotion in Batang Regency, followed by data collection related to tourist destinations, user preferences, and the necessary technical aspects. Additionally, the application design was executed using Figma, with an implementation based on Kotlin and database integration utilizing MySQL. The Black Box Testing method was employed to assess the system’s functionality and the precision of CBF-based recommendations. The results of the evaluation indicated that the application exhibited satisfactory functionality, with all primary features operating as intended. Furthermore, the recommendation system demonstrated its capacity to generate customized tourism recommendations that align with user preferences.
