Abstract

Tourists often face difficulties in accessing accurate information and navigating destinations due to the use of fragmented applications. This study aims to develop a mobile-based recommendation system to streamline the search for tourism and culinary destinations in Sleman Regency. The system was developed on the Android platform using Firebase as the backend database, incorporating key features such as destination and culinary search, online ticket booking, navigation, and bug reporting. The Haversine formula was implemented to accurately calculate geographic distances for location-based recommendations. Destinations are categorized into nature tourism, educational sites, family attractions, and temples, while culinary offerings are classified into traditional food, modern cuisine, snacks, and beverages. Black box testing results indicate that all features function as intended. This system not only facilitates trip planning and culinary exploration but also contributes to the digital transformation and tourism growth in the Sleman region.
