Abstract

Indonesia is an agrarian country where rice serves as a primary commodity and staple food source. To increase young people's interest and knowledge in agriculture, particularly in rice cultivation, innovation is needed to provide engaging educational tools. This study aims to develop a mobile application based on Marker-Based Augmented Reality (AR) to introduce pests that attack rice plants. The application is designed to deliver interactive and visual information regarding various pest species and their characteristics. Pest data were obtained through literature reviews from journals, articles, and other reliable sources. The system utilizes visual markers recognized by the camera to display corresponding 3D objects and relevant information. Test results indicate that the application functions as expected, with complete 3D object displays and descriptive content. Additionally, black box testing showed the system achieved 100% accuracy. The application is expected to help farmers respond quickly and accurately to pest threats and serve as an innovative educational tool in the agricultural sector.
