Abstract

The library serves as a vital source of knowledge within educational institutions. However, its data management is still predominantly conducted using conventional methods, causing inefficiencies for library staff. To address this issue, an Android-based digital library information system was developed to facilitate the management of library data. This application is built using the Java programming language. The system provides various features, including book borrowing and return information, student data, book status, book codes, late return penalties, and a catalogue of available books. This Android application allows students to easily borrow and return books without physically searching through the library shelves; instead, they can browse the entire book collection via the application. Moreover, the system includes a fine calculation feature, enabling students to view and manage overdue penalties directly within the application. Keywords: Library, Android, Java
