Abstract

Libraries serve as vital knowledge resources within educational institutions; however, many still rely on conventional data management methods, which often hinder operational efficiency for library staff. To address this limitation, an Android-based digital library information system was developed to facilitate streamlined data management processes. This system was implemented using the Java programming language and is designed to deliver comprehensive library services directly through mobile devices. The application provides functionalities including book borrowing and returning, student data management, book status tracking, book codes, overdue fine calculations, and catalogue browsing. With this system, students can easily access and search the library's collection without needing to visit the physical location. Moreover, the application includes an integrated fine management feature, enabling users to view penalties incurred for late returns directly within the app. This solution significantly enhances the accessibility and efficiency of library services for both staff and students.
