Abstract

Fast and stable internet access is essential for supporting both learning and administrative activities in schools. Banguntapan Public Elementary School faces challenges due to limited and uneven bandwidth distribution, which results in decreased internet performance. This study aims to optimize bandwidth usage through the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method, grounded in Quality of Service (QoS) principles. The implementation of HTB allows for hierarchical bandwidth allocation based on user and service priorities. This study analyzed network conditions before and after the implementation of HTB and evaluated its performance using QoS parameters such as throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. The results indicate significant improvements in internet connection stability and efficiency, thereby facilitating optimal learning and administrative activities. This method can serve as a reference for other schools to implement bandwidth management solutions.
