Abstract

Network monitoring is a critical component in ensuring the availability and performance of information technology services, particularly in educational institutions such as SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta. As the number of devices continues to grow, an efficient and integrated monitoring system becomes essential. This research aims to optimize the network monitoring infrastructure by utilizing a Mikrotik router as the primary device for managing data traffic, in conjunction with Prometheus as a metrics data center and Grafana for data visualization. The Mikrotik router plays a vital role in delivering network performance data through the SNMP protocol, enabling real-time monitoring. The research methodology encompassed system observation, system design, implementation, and evaluation based on Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, including throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. The results of the implementation and testing demonstrated that the system could rapidly detect network issues and deliver real-time information. Consequently, the integration of Prometheus and Grafana offers a more effective and efficient monitoring solution.
