Abstract
This report aims to determine the inventory control of woven raw materials using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method at CV Kirana Mas Homes. The author calculates and compares the economic order quantity of woven raw materials, the frequency of ordering these materials, safety stock levels, reorder points, and total inventory costs between the company’s current calculations and those derived from the EOQ method. The EOQ method is a widely recognized inventory management technique designed to minimize total inventory costs by balancing storage and ordering expenses. The data collection method employed consists of interviews and field observations. The basis for the calculations is the 2022 woven purchase data for the KMH 177, KMH 187, and KMH 087 types. The results indicate that the company purchased 19,006 woven raw materials, with a purchase frequency of 20 times. In contrast, the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method suggests an optimal order quantity of 549 sets, with a purchase frequency of 3 times. Additionally, the company has not calculated the safety stock; however, when applying the EOQ method, the required safety stock should be 3,475 sets. The company has also not determined the reorder point, but according to the EOQ method, reordering should occur when inventory levels reach 4,455 sets. The total inventory cost calculated by the company amounts to IDR 10,764,100, whereas the EOQ method estimates it at IDR 6,364,721. Based on this data, it is evident that managing the inventory of woven raw materials in 2022 using the EOQ method is more efficient and optimal than the company’s current method.
