Abstract
Tourism is a vital sector, and the quality of service largely determines its success. However, issues related to the professionalism of tour guides persist at the Sonobudoyo Museum in Yogyakarta. This study aims to analyze the impact of tour guide professionalism, including knowledge, skills, and attitudes, on tourist satisfaction at the Sonobudoyo Museum in Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative approach with explanatory research, data were collected through questionnaires from 80 tourists who used tour guide services at the Sonobudoyo Museum Unit I in April 2025. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 25, following the validation and reliability testing of the instruments. The results of the simultaneous test (F test) indicate that tour guide professionalism (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) collectively has a significant impact on tourist satisfaction (F = 4.497 > F table 2.725; Sig. = 0.006 < 0.05). However, in the partial test (t-test), only the tour guides' skills were found to have a positive and significant effect on tourist satisfaction (t = 5.022; p < 0.05). Knowledge (t = -0.440; p = 0.661 > 0.05) and attitudes (t = 0.678; p = 0.500 > 0.05) did not individually show a significant impact on satisfaction. This regression model explains 15.1% of the variation in tourist satisfaction (R² = 0.151). In conclusion, the skills of tour guides are the most dominant factor in creating tourist satisfaction at the Sonobudoyo Museum. This study emphasizes the importance of enhancing the skill aspects of tour guides to create more memorable tourism experiences and improve visitor satisfaction at educational destinations.
