Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui upaya guru BK dalam mengubah persepsi negatif siswa terhadap layanan BK di SMKN 2 Godean. Peneliti mengangkat permasalahan dari fenomena yang menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa yang masih memiliki persepsi negatif terhadap layanan BK di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga guru BK dan lima siswa kelas X. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk persepsi negatif siswa meliputi guru BK dianggap sebagai polisi sekolah atau penegak kedisiplinan dan siswa juga memiliki pemahaman bahwa layanan BK hanya untuk siswa bermasalah saja. Faktor penyebab munculnya persepsi negatif diantaranya adalah pendekatan guru BK yang terlalu formal dan kaku, kurangnya pemahaman siswa tentang fungsi layanan BK, sistem BK yang berjalan belum maksimal, serta pengalaman masa lalu siswa mengenai BK. Upaya yang dilakukan guru BK untuk mengubah persepsi negatif siswa meliputi guru BK melakukan pendekatan personal atau pribadi, memanfaatkan jam masuk kelas, memperbaiki sistem layanan BK, melakukan kolaborasi dengan guru dan orang tua. Simpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan langsung guru BK dalam membangun komunikasi yang baik dengan siswa dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai layanan bimbingan dan konseling sehingga dapat mengurangi persepsi negatif secara bertahap. Diharapkan guru BK dapat memperkuat upaya yang sudah dilakukan, menjalin komunikasi yang baik dengan pihak sekolah dan orang tua, serta mengembangkan media informasi yang lebih menarik agar layanan bimbingan dan konseling dapat diterima baik oleh siswa. Keterbatasan pada penelitian ini terletak pada subjek penelitian yang hanya terbatas pada guru BK dan siswa di SMKN 2 Godean dan fokus penelitian yang hanya menyoroti persepsi negatif saja. Disarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk melakukan penelitian dengan cakupan subjek yang lebih luas dan diharapkan untuk dapat meneliti mengenai faktor budaya sekolah dan kepemimpinan sebagai variabel yang mempengaruhi persepsi negatif. The purpose of this study was to find out the efforts of BK teachers in changing students' negative perception of BK services at SMKN 2 Godean. The researcher raised the problem from the phenomenon that shows that many students still have a negative perception of BK services at school. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results of this study consist of three BK teachers and five students of class X. The results of the study show that the form of negative perception of students includes BK teachers are considered as school police or discipline enforcers and students also have an understanding that BK services are only for problematic students. The factors that cause the emergence of negative perceptions include the approach of BK teachers who are too formal and rigid, the lack of students' understanding of the function of BK services, the BK system that is not running optimally, and students' past experiences regarding BK. Efforts made by BK teachers to change negative perceptions of students include BK teachers taking a personal or personal approach, taking advantage of class entry hours, improving the BK service system, collaborating with teachers and parents. The conclusion of this study shows that the direct involvement of BK teachers in building good communication with students can increase students' understanding of guidance and counseling services so that they can gradually reduce negative perceptions. It is hoped that BK teachers can strengthen the efforts that have been made, establish good communication with the school and parents, and develop more interesting information media so that guidance and counseling services can be well received by students. The limitations of this study lie in the research subjects that are only limited to BK teachers and students at SMKN 2 Godean and the focus of the research is only to highlight negative perceptions. It is recommended to the next researcher to conduct research with a wider scope of subjects and is expected to be able to research the factors of school culture and leadership as variables that affect negative perceptions.
