Abstract

IMPLEMENTING A WEB-BASED LIBRARY INFORMATION SYSTEM (Case Study: SMK Negeri 1 Paloh) Dwi Aldi1, Damar Prasetyo2 Program Studi Sistem Informasi, Fakultas Sains & Teknologi Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta Jl.Ringroad Utara, Jombor, Sleman, Yogyakarta Email: [email protected], [email protected] ABSTRACT The SMK Negeri 1 Paloh Library serves as a central information resource to support the learning process and enhance student literacy. However, its non-computerized library management system presents several challenges, including lengthy book borrowing and returning procedures, a high risk of recording errors, difficulties in data retrieval, and delays in reporting. This study aims to implement a web-based library information system to address these issues. The system was developed through stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Functional testing results indicate that all system features operate as intended, while performance testing shows increased service speed and reduced recording errors compared to the manual system. The study concludes that implementing a web-based library information system at SMK Negeri 1 Paloh can accelerate book borrowing and returning services, reduce data recording errors, and simplify data retrieval and the preparation of library reports.
