Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of digital technology has driven numerous innovations in delivering personalized entertainment content. One such approach is a mood-based recommendation system, which enables users to receive movie or music suggestions tailored to their current mood. In this study, the authors designed and developed a prototype application for mood-based movie and music recommendations by employing sentiment analysis on user text input. The system utilizes a sentiment analysis algorithm to detect the user's mood, which then serves as the basis for generating relevant content recommendations. The application was developed using Flutter for the user interface (frontend) and Flask for the backend service, which manages data processing and integrates with Firebase. Firebase is also employed for user authentication and storing favorite data. Test results demonstrate that the application effectively provides recommendations aligned with the user's mood and features an interactive, responsive interface. This approach allows users to enjoy a more adaptive and emotionally relevant entertainment experience. Keywords: Recommender System, Mood, Sentiment Analysis, Flutter, Flask, Firebase.
