Abstract
Revitalisasi Pasar Subah di Kabupaten Batang menjadi urgensi yang selaras dengan arah pembangunan daerah dalam RPJMD Kabupaten Batang Tahun 2017–2022, khususnya pada upaya peningkatan kualitas infrastruktur pelayanan publik dan penguatan sektor ekonomi kerakyatan. Kondisi eksisting Pasar Subah menunjukkan berbagai permasalahan, antara lain kerusakan fisik bangunan, kurangnya fasilitas penunjang, keterbatasan lapak bagi pedagang, serta lingkungan pasar yang cenderung kumuh. Berdasarkan klasifikasi SNI, Pasar Subah merupakan pasar tipe 2 yang menampung 725 pedagang, terdiri dari 420 los, 190 kios, dan 115 lapak, sehingga membutuhkan penataan ulang yang lebih terstruktur dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan pengguna. Pendekatan Responsive Environment digunakan sebagai konsep utama perancangan untuk menciptakan lingkungan pasar yang mampu merespon kondisi, preferensi perilaku, serta pola aktivitas individu maupun kelompok. Pendekatan ini berfokus pada peningkatan keterbacaan ruang, fleksibilitas, aksesibilitas, kenyamanan, serta interaksi sosial yang lebih baik bagi pengunjung dan pedagang. Melalui revitalisasi dengan pendekatan tersebut, Pasar Subah diharapkan dapat menjadi ruang ekonomi yang lebih tertata, aman, nyaman, dan mendukung aktivitas masyarakat. The revitalization of Subah Market in Batang Regency is a critical priority, aligned with the regional development objectives outlined in the Batang Regency Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2017–2022. This plan emphasizes enhancing the quality of public service infrastructure and strengthening the people-centered economic sector. Currently, Subah Market faces several challenges, including physical deterioration of the building, inadequate supporting facilities, limited vendor space, and an overall dilapidated market environment. According to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) classification, Subah Market is a Type 2 market accommodating 725 vendors, comprising 420 stalls, 190 counters, and 115 additional cubicles. Consequently, the market requires a more structured, adaptive redesign to meet user needs. The Responsive Environment approach serves as the primary design concept, aiming to create a market environment that responds to individuals' and groups’ conditions, behavioral preferences, and activity patterns. This approach emphasizes enhancing spatial legibility, flexibility, accessibility, comfort, and fostering improved social interaction between visitors and vendors. Through revitalization guided by this approach, Subah Market is expected to become a more organized, safe, comfortable, and supportive economic space for community activities.
