Abstract

Pengembangan ekonomi kreatif merupakan strategi penting dalam meningkatkan daya saing kota dan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi berkelanjutan. Kota Padang memiliki potensi signifikan dalam berbagai subsektor ekonomi kreatif, namun pengembangannya masih terkendala oleh keterbatasan fasilitas yang mampu mengintegrasikan fungsi produksi, kolaborasi, edukasi, dan promosi secara terpadu. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan konsep perancangan Minangkabau Creative Hub di Kota Padang sebagai infrastruktur kreatif yang mendukung penguatan ekosistem ekonomi kreatif perkotaan. Metode perancangan dilakukan melalui pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif dengan analisis konteks tapak, kebutuhan ruang, dan prinsip arsitektur kontemporer. Pendekatan ini menekankan fleksibilitas dan adaptabilitas ruang, keterbukaan visual, serta efisiensi tata massa untuk mengakomodasi dinamika aktivitas kreatif. Hasil perancangan diharapkan mampu menghasilkan bangunan yang berfungsi sebagai pusat aktivitas kreatif (creative hub), medium interaksi sosial, dan katalisator pengembangan ekonomi kreatif di Kota Padang. The development of the creative economy is a crucial strategy for enhancing city competitiveness and promoting sustainable economic growth. Padang City possesses significant potential across various sub-sectors of the creative economy; however, its progress is hindered by limited facilities that can integrate production, collaboration, education, and promotion functions cohesively. This research aims to formulate a design concept for the Minangkabau Creative Hub in Padang City, serving as creative infrastructure to strengthen the urban creative economic ecosystem. The design method employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, analyzing the site context, spatial requirements, and contemporary architectural principles. This approach emphasizes flexibility and adaptability of space, visual openness, and efficient mass planning to accommodate the dynamics of creative activities. It is anticipated that the design will result in a building that functions as a creative activity center (creative hub), a medium for social interaction, and a catalyst for creative economic development in the city of Padang.
