ABSTRACT Some students still have difficulty in constructing pronoun in a sentence such as putting the pronoun in the incorrect order. Discovery Learning Method helps the students to obtain the pronoun material by themselves through problem-solving task.This research aims to describe the implementation of Discovery Learning method toward students’ ability in using pronoun to write sentence, and to find out the effectiveness and the improvement of the students’ ability in using pronoun after implementing the Discovery Learning method at SMK N 1 Tempel in the academic year 2017/2018. The researcher conducted this research toward the tenth-grade students of Accounting which consisted of 27 students. The research was conducted using classroom action research as the research design where the researcher was acted as a teacher. The researcher conducted the action classroom research in two cycles which consisted of five meetings. The researcher used some research instruments as tools to collect quantitative data such as tests and observation sheet. The result of the research showed the implementation of Discovery Learning method toward students’ ability in using pronoun to write sentence. It also proved that Discovery Learning was effective and it could improve students’ ability in using pronoun to write sentence . Key Word : Discovery Learning, Pronoun, Student Ability,Writing.
