Abstract

The need for energy, especially electricity in Indonesia, is increasingly developing into an inseparable part of people's daily needs along with the rapid development in the fields of technology, industry and information. The use of petroleum and coal energy resources is still the main energy source that is continuously used. This continuous use has resulted in decreasing energy reserves each year. There have been many materials that are quite potential as substitutes for petroleum, including ethanol, natural gas, electricity, hydrogen, propane, biodiesel, methanol, and P-series. However, the existence of these materials is also increasingly depleted because of being explored too often by humans, while to reproduce them nature takes hundreds of years. Another alternative that can still be utilized is waste, one of which is liquid tapioca flour. The liquid waste of tapioca flour has a glucose content that has the potential to be used as an energy source for batteries and batteries. Because of the large amount of tapioca liquid waste that is only used for animal feed ingredients, the authors made a prototype of Tapioca Tepung Liquid Waste Power Plant by fermentation using Saccharomyces cerevissiae and Acetobacter aceti. Keywords: Energy, Petroleum, Waste, Battery, Power Plant, Arduino.
