Abstract

The dense environment of urban communities makes people not have land to grow crops. Hydroponics is a farming alternative that can be developed in urban environments. Maintenance of hydroponic plants is currently manual, which uses human energy for the process of providing nutrients and maintaining water circulation in the hydroponic field. Manually maintaining is considered to require a lot of energy and time so it is less efficient. In this case, automatic maintenance is a solution for more efficient maintenance monitoring. The monitoring system can read data through sensors installed on the hydroponic system. The hydroponic plant monitoring system uses the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller to process sensor data. Sensors used as support are ultrasonic sensors, DS18B20 temperature sensors and pH sensors. Some other components that are used are water pumps that serve as nutrition and water supply for plants. Data read by the system can be viewed via the internet on the Cayenne server. To maintain the reliability and quality of the system, this tool is good, it takes care as in general, namely checking sensors and connections. And checking plants needs to be done occasionally in some time. Keywords: Hydroponic System, NodeMCU, Ultrasonic, pH Sensor and Temperature Sensor.
