Abstract

Body temperature examination of sick family members is only carried out within a certain time interval so that there is a gap between one interval and the next interval. During the pause, the body temperature is not monitored properly. If there is a sudden change in body temperature, other family members do not immediately know it. Some conditions that occur are if the body temperature is between 37.5 ° C to 40 ° C it indicates febrile or fever. If the body temperature is more than 40 ° C it indicates hyperthermia. Whereas if the temperature is below 36 ° C, it signifies hypothermia. These conditions will endanger family members who are sick if not addressed immediately. This study developed a Vital Sign Monitor (Visor) consisting of Visor Band with Internet of Things (IoT) technology and an Android-based Visor Application. Visors are built with NodeMCU and DS18b20 temperature sensors which can monitor the user's body temperature continuously and will give notifications in the form of vibrations on smartphone to supervisors, i.e. other family members when the sick family members condition suddenly deteriorates. Based on the results of application testing it can be concluded that the system can monitor body temperature. In addition, the smartphone vibrates according to predetermined conditions, namely when the body temperature is below 36 ° C or above 37.5 ° C. Based on the results of testing the tool it can be concluded that the temperature measurement has an average value of 99.26% accuracy with the highest value per test object of 99.86%. The biggest difference in measurement results is 0.69 ° C, while the smallest difference in measurement results is 0.05 ° C. Keywords: Internet of Things, Body Temperature, Notifications, Android
