Abstract
ABSTRAK Kulon Progo merupakan salah satu dari 5 (lima) Kabupaten Kota yang termasuk dalam Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, yang mulai berkembang dari segi infrastruktur, pariwisata dan budayanya. Pemerintah Kulon Progo terus berupaya meningkatkan kualitas infrastruktur yang ada guna memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat dan daerahnya. Salah satunya disektor olahraga, Pemerintah Kulon Progo telah menyiapkan rencana pembangunan kawasan olahraga terpadu di Kota Wates, melihat dari perkembangan para atlet yang terus meningkat dan minat bakat generasi milenial di Kulon Progo dibidang olahraga yang terus bertambah setiap tahunnya. Sport Center menjadi solusi agar seluruh aktivitas berolahraga dalam masyarakat dapat terwadahi dengan baik sesuai dengan standar olahraga dimasing – masing cabang. Selain itu potensi wisata budaya juga memiliki peran penting, karena pembangunan disuatu daerah tidak boleh lepas dari asal usul budaya daerah masing – masing sebagai acuan dalam membangun. Dalam konteks olahraga, terdapat masyrakat sebagai pelaku utama. Sebagai pelaku masyarakat memiliki peran penting dalam aktivitas olahraga, bagaimana perilaku pengguna dapat mempengaruhi keberlangsungan aktivitas olahraga agar merasa nyaman dan aman. Sedangkan dibidang budaya Kulon Progo memiliki batik geblek renteng dan sebagai identitas daerah tersebut. Hal ini menjadi bukti bahwa arsitektur tradisional dan budaya setempat memiliki hubungan harmonis dan mempunyai korelasi satu sama lain. Identitas masyarakat dan budaya setempat kemudian dikoneksikan menjadi sebuah pendekatan dalam merancang Sport Center dikota Wates yang dikenal dengan Culture Connection, artinya terdapat koneksi budaya yang tertuang dalam Sport Center nantinya sebagai respon terhadap identitas lokal setempat, membuat desain yang inovatif, kreatif dan terbaharukan dari korelasi budaya tersebut serta dalam rangka melestarikan budaya agar tetap terjaga keberlangsungannya. Implementasi Culture Connection kedalam Sport Center yaitu berupa human cultural, filosofi geblek dalam fasad dan program ruangnya. Dengan demikian, identitas lokal setempat dapat terekspos dalam Sport Center tersebut. Kata kunci : Sport Center, Wates, Olahraga, Culture Connection ABSTRACT Kulon Progo is one of 5 (five) City Regencies included in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, which begins to develop in terms of infrastructure, tourism and culture. Kulon Progo government continues to improve the quality of existing infrastructure to meet the needs of the society and its region. One of them is in the sports sector, in which Kulon Progo Government has prepared a plan for the construction of an integrated sports area in Wates City because of the growing development of athletes and the increasing interest of millennial generation in Kulon Progo in the field of sports every year. The Sport Center is a solution so that all sports activities in the society can be properly accommodated based on the sports standards in each branch. In addition, the potential of cultural tourism also has an important role, because development in a region cannot be separated from the origin of each region's culture as a reference in the construction. In the context of sports, society plays a role as the main actors. As the actors, the society has an important role in sports activities, about how user behavior can affect the sustainability of sports activities so as to create a feeling of comfort and safety. Meanwhile, the cultural field of Kulon Progo has geblek renteng batik which is the identity of the region. This is proof that traditional architecture and local culture have harmonious relationships and have a correlation with each other. The identity of the local society and culture is then connected to an approach in designing the Sport Center in the Wates city, known as the Culture Connection approach, meaning that there is a cultural connection contained in the Sport Center in response to local identity, to create innovative, creative and renewable designs from the cultural correlation, and in order to preserve culture so that its sustainability is maintained. The implementation of Culture Connection into the Sport Center is in the form of human culture, the philosophy of geblek in facades and its space program.
