Abstract

ABSTRACT In a growing life, electricity has become an important thing to support the activities of daily life.This happens especially in the area of Yogyakarta where in 2015 the population was around +3,720,912 and will always increase by the time. The increasing number of residents has an impact on the increase that occurs in the number of buildings and causes electricity needs to increase. The increasing amount of electricity results in disruption and rotating blackouts in the area of D.I. Yogyakarta, so that the use of alternative energy or renewable energy is one of the things that can be done to reduce the amount of electricity using fossil fuels. The PLTS system is a renewable energy that can be developed. In this research, simulation and economic calculation for PLTS with Hybrid method is done that is by connecting PLTS to the PLN network, and analyzing economic calculations using the method of calculating ROI (Return of Investment). From the calculation, by investing IDR 537,300,000 - you can make a PLTS Hybrid using 44 solar panels, 6 solar charge controllers 60 A, 83 pieces of VRLA 12 V 200 Ah batteries, and 1 inverter 10 kW, and a series of hybrid which is composed of 2 MCBs, 2 contactors, 2 timers, and 1 AC / DC relay included in the system to connect PLTS with the PLN network. Based on economic analysis of Net Value Present (NPV), Profitability Index (PI), and Payback Period (PP) it is stated that PLTS that has been designed is feasible to apply.
