Abstract
ABSTRACT Horticultural derives from the word hortus which means garden or orchard and colere which means cultivation. Horticultural term literally translated as an effort of cultivating the plant fruits (Frutikultur), vegetables (Olekultura), and Ornamentals (Floriculture) (Janick, 1972). Plant mustard (Brassica juncea l.) is one type of vegetable horticulture which has commercial value and good prospects. From the technical aspects, cultivation of mustard greens is not quite difficult (Haryanto dkk, 2007). Cultivating mustard plants needs loose soil conditions that are rich in organic matter, soil pH around 6-7 and good soil drainage. The Desired temperatures are around 180C - 300C, altitude of 5 - 1200 m above sea level and rainfall 1500-2000 mm / yr with soil moisture around 80-90% RH (Nazarudddin, 1993). In this research, automatic horticulture watering tools are designed to facilitate farmers in cultivating horticultural crops, especially mustard plants. Microcontroller uses NodeMCU V3 as its programming hardware. For watering mustard plants based on watering time it uses the sensor RTC (Real Time Clock) DS-3231. A capacitive soil moisture sensor (soil moisture sensor) is used to read the moisture value in mustard soil plants. Water flow sensor) will read the water rate when the watering of mustard plants is taking place. Telegram application through BothFather in the design of this tool is used as a medium for monitoring the mustard watering tools Keywords: watering plants, automatic, horticulture, mustard plants.
