Abstract
Recently, the availability of media development helps someone communicate and deliver messages freely without thinking the others’ feeling and opinions. It results in teenagers’ aggressive attitude. The example of teenagers’ low assertive attitude is direct bullying or through mass media which is called cyberbullying. Someone who has low assertive attitude cannot control what he or she is communicating to others. Therefore, tt is important for teenagers to have high assertive attitude. An assertive attitude is the way to deliver something politely about pleasant or unpleasant things. The importance of assertive attitude in the school environment is to avoid bad attitudes. Thus, the researcher developed a developing assertive attitude media at SMP Negeri 3 Godean, Yogyakarta. The Object of this research was 181 students of class VIII. This research was aimed to develop assertive attitude media based on android. It was applied at SMP Negeri 3 Godean, Yogyakarta. The development of the media combined varieties multimedia objects, namely texts, figures, audio, video and interactive button. The content of the media was a video about the comprehension of assertive attitude, a quiz with 15 questions and the last is the information about the application of researcher’s social media. The method used in this research was Research and Development, following the procedures of research based on Alessi & Trolip. The procedures of the research were: (1) Planning Stage, it consisted of identifying the problem, identifying the necessity and collecting the material, (2) Design, it consisted of making flowchart and storyboard, (3) Development, it consisted of media production code writing program of alpa testing, revision and beta testing. The media had already been developed using alpa and beta test. The percentage of the testing result obtained from the expert judgment was 75%, of which the criteria was proper to use, then the percentage of the test result on the media was 81.5%, of which the criteria was very proper to use. Meanwhile, the percentage of beta testing was 83.6%, of which the criteria was very proper to use. The suggestion for the next researcher, it was better for the researcher to develop the materials and menu in an application. Keywords: Assertive behavior, bullying, Media development
