Abstract
ABSTRAK Kota Klaten merupakan pusat pemerintahan dari Kabupaten Klaten. Cikal bakal Kota Klaten dari Kecamatan Klaten yang sebagai kota administratif yang menggandeng kecamatan disekelilingnya, namun setelah masuk era reformasi istilah kota administratif dihapus pada tahun 2003 karena tidak memenuhi standar kelayakan dan dirubah menjadi kota otonom. Sebagai pusat pemerintahan Kabupaten Klaten tentunya Klaten memiliki banyak bidang perekonomian untuk memajukan Kota Klaten. Selain itu, pemerintah Kota Klaten mempunyai perencanaan pengembangan kawasan komersial di Kota Klaten. Hal inilah yang mendasari perencanaan pembangunan area komersial yang dapat mewadahi dan menunjang perekonomian Kota Klaten. Redesain mall Plasa Klaten yang sudah terbengkalai dan ditinggalkan pengunjungnya menjadi sasaran untuk membantu pertumbuhan perekonomian Kota Klaten ditambah dengan pendekatan “Mixed-Use Building” dengan fungsi hotel yang dapat menarik pengunjung dengan fungsi bangunan yang saling melengkapi. Pendekatan ini dipilih karena lokasi di Klaten Tengah sebagai area sentral perekonomian Kota Klaten. Pendekatan ini juga dipilih berdasarkan konteks isu yang digencarkan oleh pemerintah Kota Klaten. Selain itu, pendekatan ini dipilih unutuk memaksimalkan site yang tidak terlalu besar dan memberikan wajah baru kepada mall Plasa klaten yang telah ditinggalkan oleh pengunjungnya sehingga dapat menjadikan icon baru dan memajukan perekonomian di Kota Klaten. Kata kunci : perencanaan plasa klaten, redesain mall, hotel, mixed-use building ABSTRACT Klaten City is the center of government of Klaten Regency. The forerunner of Klaten City was from Klaten District which was an administrative city that collaborated with the surrounding sub-districts, but after entering the reform era the term administrative city was abolished in 2003 because it did not meet eligibility standards and was changed to an autonomous city. As the center of Klaten Regency government, of course, Klaten has many economic fields to promote Klaten City. In addition, the Klaten City government has a commercial area development plan in Klaten City. This is what underlies the planning for the development of a commercial area that can accommodate and support the economy of Klaten City. The redesign of the Klaten Mall Plaza mall, which has been neglected and abandoned by its visitors, is a target to help the economic growth of Klaten City coupled with a “Mixed-Use Building” approach with hotel functions that can attract visitors with complementary building functions. This approach was chosen because of its location in the central area of the economy of Klaten City. This approach was also chosen based on the context of the issues being intensified by the Klaten City government. In addition, this approach was chosen to maximize the site that is not too big and to give a new face to the Klaten Mall Plaza that has been abandoned by visitors so that it can make a new icon and advance the economy in Klaten City.
