Abstract
ABSTRACT The Department Culture and Tourism in Sorong City is one of the governmental offices which is in charge of help City Mayor and Vice Mayor in field tourism. In delivery of information tourism currently still use brochure, pamphlet, and travel catalogue. It means, a tourist should come to the office to get tourism information. To resolve the problem, the researcher created information system web-based used as tool help in delivery tourism information. Research methods used were direct observation, interview, and study of literature. Tourism information system is web-based built using HTML and CSS as the display of the system, PHP as the programming language, MySQL as the database server, and Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 as supporter. The result of development system showed that information media and tourism promotion potency in Sorong City would be interesting for local and foreign tourists to visit Sorong City.
