Abstract

Abstract Ulujami District is one of the Districts originating from Pemalang Regency, Central Java Province. Ulujami sub-district has an area of about 2,305 ha covering 18 villages. The 18 villages are: Ambowetan, Blendung, Botekan, Bumirejo, Kaliprau, Kertosari, Ketapang, Limbangan, Mojo, Padek, Pagergunung, Pamutih, Pesantren, Rowosari, Samong, Sukorejo, Tasikrejo, Wiyorowetan. It is a densely populated area. Several Kelurahan, apart from being located on the northern coast of Java, are also located along the direction of the river, where these Kelurahan are frequently hit by tidal flood inundation. Therefore, research is needed on the effect of tidal water on the quality of well water in the coastal area of Pemalang Regency, precisely in Ulujami District. The data required for research are administrative maps, and well water quality parameters from KEPMENKES No.416 / MenKes / Per / XI / 2010. The equipment used was GPS, stationery, and Water Quality Checker. Selection and sampling of well water used stratified random sampling technique. The analysis included testing the quality of well water in the tidal area. The results showed that in general the quality of dug well water in the Ulujami District area did not meet the requirements for daily needs. However, in several locations, close to the beach it showed a high salt content so that the well water was not recommended for drinking purposes, especially dug wells. The conditions of the wells in the Ulujami District area were not suitable for daily use. Wells with water that did not smell were 88.89%, and which smells was a bit bigger than 11.11%, wells with salty taste 11.1%, 3.89% slightly salty was 3.89%, and 75% non-salty, 44.44% clear wells, slightly cloudy 33.33% and 22.22% of the 36 results of well water testing in Ulujami District. Key words: rob, drinking water quality, North Coastal Area
