Abstract

ABSTRAK Penggunaan bahan beton yang semakin meningkat setiap hari, semakin mengeksploitasi alam mengharuskan dibuatnya bahan adiktif lain untuk membantu dalam efisiensi penggunaan bahan-bahan konvensional pembuatan beton. Penggunaan bahan tambah dan penggunaan bahan limbah akan menjadikan sebuah komposisi yang akan saling mengikat. Bahan tambah yang digunakan adalah metakaolin dimana mempunyai komposisi SiO2, Al2O3 dan H2O, yang merupakan mineral alami dan mempunyai kesamaan unsur dengan komposisi semen. Sedangkan dari limbah daun tembakau sendiri yang diolah dapat menghasilkan serat. Serat dalam beton tersebut mempunyai sifat tahan terhadap tekanan. Pada penelitian ini mencoba membuat variasi metakaolin yang digunakan masing-masing dengan kadar 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, dan limbah serat daun tembakau yang digunakan sebesar 5%. Penambahan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan metakaolin dan limbah serat daun tembakau terhadap kuat tekan beton. Pembuatan benda uji dilakukan di Laboratorium Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta dan pengujian kuat tekan beton dilakukan di Laboratorium Batching Plant PT. Pioneer Beton Industri Yogyakarta setelah perendaman selama 28 hari. Dari hasil uji nilai slump pembuatan benda uji silinder ini penambahan metakaolin 5%, 6%, 7%, dan 8% memperoleh slump ±10 cm, sesuai dengan persyaratan. Berdasarkan pengujian kuat tekan silinder bahwa beton normal memiliki nilai kuat tekan rata-rata sebesar 25,276 MPa, Pada beton metakaolin 5%, 6%, 7%, 8% dan serat daun tembakau 5% secara berurutan memiliki kuat tekan rata-rata sebesar 27,162 MPa, 27,351 MPa, 27,917 MPa, 28,671 MPa. Kadar penambahan yang paling optimal adalah pada bahan metakaolin 8% dan serat daun tembakau 5% dengan diperoleh kuat tekan sebesar 28,671 MPa. Peningkatan persentase yang diperoleh sebesar 7% hingga 13%. Kata Kunci: beton, metakaolin, serat daun tembakau, slump, kuat tekan. Abstract The use of concrete materials is increasing day by day. The increasing nature exploitation requires the creation of other addictive materials to help in the efficient use of conventional materials for making concrete. The use of added materials and the use of waste materials will create a composition that will bind each other. The additive used is metakaolin, which has a composition of SiO2, Al2O3 and H2O, which are natural minerals and have the same elemental composition as cement. Meanwhile, processed tobacco leaf waste can produce fiber. The fibers in the concrete are resistant to pressure. This study tried to vary the metakaolin used with levels of 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, respectively, and 5% of the tobacco leaf fiber waste. This addition aimed to determine the effect of adding metakaolin and tobacco leaf fiber waste to the compressive strength of concrete. The making of the tested object was carried out at the Laboratory of the University of Technology Yogyakarta and the concrete compressive strength test was carried out at the Batching Plant Laboratory of PT. Pioneer Beton Industri Yogyakarta after soaking for 28 days. From the results of the slump value test for the manufacture of cylindrical specimens, the addition of 5%, 6%, 7%, and 8% metakaolin obtained a slump of ± 10 cm, in accordance to the requirements. Based on the cylinder compressive strength test, normal concrete had an average compressive strength value of 25,276 MPa, 5%, 6%, 7%, 8% and 5% of tobacco leaf fiber, respectively, and had an average compressive strength of 27,162 MPa, 27,351 MPa, 27,917 MPa, 28,671 MPa. The optimal level of addition was in the 8% metakaolin material and 5% tobacco leaf fiber with a compressive strength of 28.671 MPa. The percentage increase obtained was 7% to 13%.
