Abstract

ABSTRAK Beton merupakan konstruksi yang sangat penting dalam pembentuk struktur yang sangat sering digunakan oleh masyarakat saat ini. Perkembangan teknologi yang begitu cepat dari masa ke masa dituntut untuk selalu mengembangkan dan memenuhi kebutuhan yang dapat mempengaruhi mutu beton. Salah satu alternatif adalah dengan penambahan mineral metakaolin dan limbah serat daun tembakau. Metakaolin mengandung bayak unsur seperti SiO2 dan Al2O3 yang merupakan unsur utama semen. Sedangkan limbah serat daun tembakau dipilih untuk mengurangi dampak dari limbah produksi rokok yang masih belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggantian semen dengan metakaolin (AL2SI2O5(OH)4) dan penggunaan limbah serat daun tembakau sebagai serat pengikat agregat terhadap kuat tekan beton dan nilai slump. Variasi penggantian semen dengan metakaolin adalah 13%, 14%, 15%, dan 16% dari berat semen. Benda uji yang dibuat berbentuk silinder ukuran tinggi 30 cm dan diameter 15 cm dengan mutu beton yang direncanakan 25 MPa. Jumlah benda uji sebanyak 15 benda uji, beton normal dan beton variasi memiliki 3 buah benda uji sebagai perbandingan. Pembuatan benda uji dilakukan pada Laboratorium Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta dan pengujian dilakukan pada Batching plat PT. Pioner Beton Yogyakarta pada 28 hari. Dari hasil pengujian kuat tekan didapatkan nilai kuat tekan beton diperoleh kuat tekan beton normal sebesar 25,276 MPa. Sedangkan untuk beton variasi metakaolin 13%, 14%, 15%, dan 16% memperoleh kuat tekan 30,935 MPa; 29,049 MPa; 27,162 MPa; dan 24,522 MPa. Kuat tekan tertinggi terjadi pada variasi metakaolin 13% dan limbah serat daun tembakau 5% sebesar 30,935 MPa. Kuat tekan terendah terjadi pada variasi metakaolin 16% dan limbah serat daun tembakau 5% sebesar 24,522 MPa. Pada pengujian slump test terjadi penurunan nilai slump terhadap beton substitusi metakaolin. Kata kunci : beton, metakaolin, serat limbah daun tembakau, slump, kuat tekan. Abstract Concrete is a very important construction in forming structures that are very often used by society today. Rapid technological developments from time to time are demanded to always develop and fulfill needs that can affect the quality of concrete. One alternative is the addition of the mineral metakaolin and tobacco leaf fiber waste. Metakaolin contains many elements such as SiO2 and Al2O3 which are the main constituents of cement. Meanwhile, tobacco leaf fiber waste was chosen to reduce the impact of cigarette production waste which is still not optimally utilized. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of replacing cement with metakaolin (AL2SI2O5 (OH) 4) and the use of tobacco leaf fiber waste as an aggregate binding fiber on the compressive strength of concrete and slump value. The variation of cement replacement with metakaolin was 13%, 14%, 15%, and 16% by weight of cement. The tested object was made in the form of a cylinder with a height of 30 cm and a diameter of 15 cm with a planned concrete quality of 25 MPa. The number of specimens was 15 specimens, normal concrete and variation concrete had 3 specimens as a comparison. The making of tested objects was carried out at the Laboratory of the University of Technology Yogyakarta and testing was carried out on the batching plate of PT. Pioner Beton Yogyakarta at 28 days soaking preparation. From the results of the compressive strength test, it was found that the compressive strength value of concrete obtained normal concrete compressive strength of 25.276 MPa. Whereas for the concrete variations of 13%, 14%, 15%, and 16% metakaolin concrete obtained a compressive strength of 30.935 MPa; 29.049 MPa; 27,162 MPa; and 24,522 MPa. The highest compressive strength occurred in the variation of 13% metakaolin and 5% tobacco leaf fiber waste of 30.935 MPa. The lowest compressive strength occurring at 16% metakaolin variation and 5% tobacco leaf fiber waste was 24.522 MPa. In the slump test, there was a decrease in the slump value of the substituted concrete for metakaolin. Key words: concrete, metakaolin, tobacco leaf waste fiber, slump, compressive strength
