Abstract

ABSTRAK Beton merupakan material yang banyak digunakan sebagai elemen struktur bangunan karena bahan penyusun beton mudah didapat dan harganya relatif terjangkau. Berbagai penelitian dan percobaan dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas beton. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan abu dari pembakaran kulit jagung dengan persentase penambahan sebanyak 1%, 2% dan 3% dari berat semen, juga digunakan superplasticizer (SikaCim concrete additive) sebanyak 1% dari volume air. Mutu beton yang direncanakan adalah 20 MPa. Pengujian dilakukan pada benda uji silinder beton dengan diameter 15 cm dan tinggi 30 cm. Jumlah sampel benda uji sebanyak 15 buah terdiri dari 5 variasi, setiap variabel menggunakan 3 buah benda uji. Hasil pengujian kuat beton pada umur 7 hari dikonversi menjadi hitungan kuat tekan umur 28 hari didapat nilai kuat tekan rata-rata beton normal sebesar 17,27 MPa, beton superplasticizer sebesar 20,75 MPa, beton variasi 1% sebesar 16,40 MPa, beton variasi 2% sebesar 20,03 MPa, dan beton variasi 3% sebesar 18,72 MPa. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kuat tekan beton mengalami peningkatan pada penambahan abu kulit jagung variasi 2%. Kata Kunci: abu kulit jagung, beton, kuat tekan, superplasticizer. Abstract Concrete is a material that is widely used as an element of building structures because the constituent materials of concrete are easy to obtain and the price is relatively affordable. Various studies and experiments were carried out as an effort to improve the quality of concrete. In this study, ash from burning corn husks was used with an additional percentage of 1%, 2% and 3% of the weight of cement, a superplasticizer (SikaCim concrete additive) was also used as much as 1% of the volume of water. The planned concrete quality was 20 MPa. The test was carried out on a concrete cylinder specimen with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm. The number of samples of test objects was as many as 15 pieces consisting of 5 variations, each variable using 3 specimens. The results of the concrete strength test at the age of 7 days were converted into a count of the compressive strength of 28 days, the average compressive strength of normal concrete was 17.27 MPa, superplasticizer concrete was 20.75 MPa, 1% variation of concrete was 16.40 MPa, concrete 2% variation of 20.03 MPa, and 3% variation of concrete 18.72 MPa. The test results showed that the compressive strength of the concrete increased with the addition of corn husk ash with a variation of 2%.
