Abstract
ABSTRACT Mitra Catering is one of the caterers in Yogyakarta which serves various kinds of dishes (food and beverage), both for parties and for an agency. Mitra Catering address is at Jalan Palagan Dusun Sedan RT.4 RW.33 No.49c Sleman Yogyakarta. This business was founded in 1989. In running its catering Mitra Katering prioritizes the quality of taste, quality of service, and cleanliness of the dishes served. In addition, Catering Partners prioritize service for consumers, therefore Catering Partners have their own uniqueness, namely in a number of menus, for example fried chicken and tumpeng rice which can be ordered for events both in families and companies. In calculating sales profit, Catering Partners still use manual notes and some are recorded through the Microsoft office excel application. Recording using Microsoft Office Excel still has a weakness, namely if the data stored requires a lot of records, it will take up quite a lot of RAM and memory, besides that, in presenting the data we have to make the right formula and several filters in presenting information that takes time. Therefore, through the design of a JAVA Desktop-based Sales Information System, it is hoped that it can help solve these problems. Presentation of information in the form of JAVA Desktop makes it easier for owners and employees to calculate sales profits and in controlling the data presented because in JAVA Desktop designs and applications make it easier for owners and employees. Application design using netbean idea 8.0. as a programming language and MySQL as a database server. Sales Information Systems presented in the JAVA Desktop application include profit and loss, financial reports, prices for goods and goods available as well as profit and income statistics.
