Abstract

Expert system is a system that uses human knowledge where this knowledge is entered into a computer and then used to solve problems that require human expertise. The problem that often occurs in smartphone users is the difficulty when facing problems or damage that occurs on smartphones. Users do not try to repair the damage themselves because they do not know how to solve problems that occur on a smartphone. This study designed an expert system for Android smartphone damage identification using the Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor methods. Expert system design uses the Forward Chaining method and the Certainty Factor method where the Forward Chaining method is a tracking process while the Certainty Factor method is a way to prove whether a fact is certain or uncertain. This expert system discusses the common damage that often occurs in smartphones and makes a diagnosis of damage based on the symptoms of the damage experienced. The results of system testing using 15 test data obtained the accuracy value of the system diagnosis of 86%. The purpose of this expert system is to identify smartphone damage that can help users find out about smartphone damage and get the right solution to fix it. Keywords: Expert System, Forward Chaining, Certainty Factor, Smartphone Damage.
