Abstract
Decision support systems are actions that must be carried out effectively and efficiently in all fields, including in the field of education. SMAN 3 Purworejo is one of the schools in the Central Java region that received scholarship assistance. The problem that is often faced is how to determine which students are eligible for scholarships because of the economic limitations of the family. Scholarships are assistance in the form of funds to help underprivileged students during their studies, but the selection process in determining scholarship recipients is still experiencing obstacles. At SMAN 3 Purworejo, it was found that the distribution of scholarships was still inaccurate due to the conventional system. In addition, decision supporters cannot see the criteria in the scholarship together. In helping to determine scholarship recipients, a method is needed that can provide valid scholarship recipient recommendations. Therefore, the research used is one method, namely Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). This method was chosen because it can determine the weight for each attribute, followed by an alternative ranking that will select the scholarship recipient based on the weight that has been made to get a more accurate result who will receive the scholarship.
