Abstract
ABSTRACT The frequent occurrence of motor vehicle theft is a daily problem that needs to be solved. Based on data obtained from the DIY Regional Police that during January to September 2019 there were 68 cases of theft of motor vehicles, especially motorcycles. The negligence of the motorcycle owner can be exploited by the perpetrators of theft. These omissions include keys left on the motorbike, not locked on the handlebars, and also parking carelessly or without parking attendants. One of the solutions I have found to secure vehicles is to apply increasingly advanced technology. To overcome this, the preparation of this Final Project aims to design a tool with a security system and motor vehicle monitoring based on the Internet of Things. The tool used is a fingerprint sensor as a fingerprint detector for vehicle owners to activate vehicle electricity and also uses a GPS module to monitor the location of the vehicle's presence. The fingerprint sensor activates the electrical system in motorized vehicles. The fingerprint sensor is a technology that has a fairly high accuracy which can only be accessed by people whose fingerprints have been inputted into the fingerprint. In addition to using a fingerprint sensor as a security, this tool is added to the Internet of Things as a platform for monitoring motor vehicles with GPS. Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept where internet connectivity can exchange information with each other with objects around it. Internet of Things (IoT) technology is likened to where physical devices can be connected to the internet. GPS is used to monitor the location of the vehicle, where GPS can be monitored using an application that is connected to the Internet of Things. The installation of this tool can be of little help for those who have motorized vehicles to secure their vehicles and also minimize the occurrence of motorcycle thefts that are increasingly rampant.
