Abstract

ABSTRACT The widespread use of the internet has given birth to a new concept called the Internet of Things (IoT). This concept is based on expanding the use and benefits of the internet by embedding a controller and sensors that can connect and share data continuously. IoT (Internet of Things) can be used at home as a smart home to control electronic equipment that can be operated with smartphone applications via an internet connection (WiFi). The application of the Internet of Things (IoT) based smart home system uses the NodeMCU ESP8266 module as a microcontroller and the Blynk android application as a controlling or monitoring tool. This system consists of a light controller, door controller, room temperature monitoring, movement detection in a room, gas leak detection and rain detection. There are several systems used, namely PIR sensors to detect movement, MQ-2 sensors to detect gas leaks, DHT11 sensors for temperature monitoring, RainDrop sensors to detect rain, RFID to open doors and servo motors to control doors, clotheslines and garages. Each system performs 20 tests and has a different level of accuracy and precision. The average value of accuracy and precision ranges from 90% to 100%. From the results of testing and analysis, the control of electronic equipment in this smart home operates according to the commands given.
