Abstract
This research aims to determine the students' perception of reading narrative text in fable and the moral values that the students get from the narrative text entitled Mouse Deer and Crocodile. The participant in this research is tenth-grade students in C class at SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa, in the academic year 2020/2021, consisting of 18 students, 3 males and 15 females. This research was qualitative as the research design. The data collection uses a questionnaire. This questionnaire is used to collect the data related to the students' perception to read fable narrative text and find out the story's moral values after reading the fable narrative text entitled Mouse Deer and Crocodile. This research result shows the perception of tenth-grade students in C class at SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa in reading narrative text on fable is in positive category, in which the students mostly like to read fable narrative text entitled Mouse Deer and Crocodile. There are some moral values of the story entitled Mouse Deer and Crocodile previously found by the participants. First, there is a way to solve the problem if we want to try; it is crucial to choose and act. Second, we ought to think clearly, and wisely when facing a difficult situation, and we have bravely fight to achieve goals. Third, lying is a terrible attitude, we have to be honest, and peace is a good thing to be created. Fourth, we should not easily trust people because we did know other people well. Fifth, every person has weaknesses and strengths. That is why we must always be grateful to God. Keywords: perception, reading, narrative text, fable, moral value Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa dalam membaca teks naratif dalam fabel, dan nilai moral yang siswa dapatkan dari teks naratif yang berjudul Kancil dan Buaya. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X kelas C SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa tahun ajaran 2020/2021 yang terdiri dari 18 siswa, 3 laki-laki, dan 15 perempuan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif sebagai desain penelitian. Data yang kami kumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Angket ini digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data terkait persepsi siswa dalam membaca teks naratif fabel, dan untuk mengetahui nilai moral cerita setelah membaca teks naratif fabel yang berjudul Kancil dan Buaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi siswa kelas X kelas C SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa dalam membaca teks naratif pada fabel berada pada kategori positif, dimana siswa sebagian besar menyukai membaca teks naratif fabel yang berjudul Kancil dan Buaya. Ada beberapa nilai moral dari cerita Kancil dan Buaya yang sebelumnya ditemukan oleh para peserta. Pertama, ada cara untuk memecahkan masalah jika kita mau mencoba, yang penting, dalam memilih dan bertindak. Kedua, kita harus berpikir jernih, dan bijaksana ketika kita menghadapi situasi yang sulit, dan kita harus berani berjuang untuk mencapai tujuan. Ketiga, kebohongan adalah perilaku buruk, kita harus jujur, dan perdamaian adalah hal yang baik untuk diciptakan. Keempat, kita jangan mudah percaya pada orang karena kita memang mengenal orang lain dengan baik. Kelima, setiap orang memiliki kelemahan dan kelebihan. Oleh karena itu, kita harus selalu bersyukur kepada Tuhan. Kata kunci: persepsi, membaca, teks naratif, fabel, nilai moral
