Abstract

ABSTRACT The study aims to improving the speaking skill of students at grade two MA Madania Bantul. The Tongue Twister game and Songs were chosen as the teaching media in this research. In this study researcher used action research as the method that used in process. This research consisting two cycles. The research was carried out in last semester from october 25th 2016 with the average number of students of each class is 25 students. The data of this study were qualitative. The data were obtained by observing learning and teaching process during the implementation of the actions and interviewing. It was in form of field notes and interview transcripts. The finding of cycle one indicated the students’ speaking skill and involvement improved along with a lot of speaking practices. The result in cycle two shows that the implementation of English Tongue twister game and songs improved the students’ skill. Especially their confidence and interest by providing students with some different topics, songs and activities. The indicators of success of implementation that: (1) students were more motivatied in learning English and to be involved in speaking activities. (2) students were actively answer the question and give some comment. (3) students were more active in the speaking during the teaching and learning process.
