Abstract

Kata kunci: minyak jelantah, lilin aromaterapi, New Product Development, Critical Success Factors Abstract MSMEs are an industrial sector that has grown a lot in Indonesia, this is due to the ease in carrying out business processes and the benefits that can be felt directly. The absence of a complex system also causes several obstacles to arise in MSME business processes. One of the obstacles that often arises and is ignored by business people is the processing of production waste. Such as Onde-onde UMKM which reuses cooking oil/used cooking oil into a new production process with a ratio of 55.5% new oil to 44.5% used cooking oil. Even though the new oil that is mixed is more than used cooking oil, the harmful ingredients contained in this used cooking oil can have a negative effect on consumers. New Product Development or new product development is a strategy in processing waste cooking oil into new products that have a sale value. In developing this new product, researchers used the Cricial Success Factors approach to determine product success in the market by analyzing the level of community needs. The result of NPD is to process 2 liters of used cooking oil into 69 pcs of 40 ml aromatherapy candles. Furthermore, processing of CSF resulted in the conclusion that as much as 85.11% of the public voted in agreement and 14.89% of the public voted strongly in agreement with the development of aromatherapy candle products made from used cooking oil. Keywords: used cooking oil, aromatherapy candles, New Product Development, Critical Success Factors
