Abstract
This research aims to understand Queenie's journey towards self-acceptance as the main character in the novel Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams. This study addresses three questions: First, what makes it difficult for Queenie to accept herself; second, what are the stages of Queenie's self-acceptance; and third, what role family and friends support Queenie's in self-acceptance? This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with the novel as the primary data source. The writer uses two theories: Abrams' objective theory to gather and analyze data, and Hurlock's theory of self�acceptance to analyze Queenie's stages of self-acceptance. In this study, the writer finds that Queenie struggles with accepting her racial identity, unhealthy romantic relationships, family problems, and workplace challenges. The research also finds that the stages of Queenie's self-acceptance include seeking help through counseling, accepting her past, and moving forward to improve her life. Additionally, the crucial role of family and friends, who consistently support and motivate her, ultimately enhances her self-confidence and ability to accept herself.
