Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the impacts of setting place in the plot of the novel. The Magician’s Nephew is the objective of this study to analyze. This study creates for answering the problem formulation: How does the setting place impact the plot of The Magician’s Nephew? The data found in the novel is divided into 4 main setting places: London (Earth), The Wood Between the Worlds, Charn, and Narnia. This study uses several experts’ theories about setting places such as M.H. Abrams and Kelley Griffith as the foundation to help analyze the data. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. To acquire the data, the writer used note�taking techniques and library research. The primary focus of this study is the setting places in the novel, which serves as the source of data. In this research, the writer finds the various settings such as London (Earth), The Wood between the Worlds, Charn, and Narnia play a crucial role in developing the plot, introducing conflicts, and driving the narrative forward. Each setting contributes to the overall story by creating a sense of mystery, adventure, and character development, leading to a compelling and engaging tale.
