The purpose of this study is to analyze the psychopathic traits of the main character in the short story The Tell Tale Heart. This research results in some findings. There are four psychopathic traits that suit with the narrator character: 1) manipulative; which is shown in his interaction with the old man, the reader, and the policemen, 2) impulsive; he has short temper that makes him does things without thinking the consequences, 3) criminal; he commits some brutal crimes, such as planning the murder, stalking, murdering and mutilating, 4) lack s guilt; he enjoy the situation when he does his crime, and after the crime he feels relieved and acts as if nothing has happened.
